a few posts back i wrote about my 'polarities' -- i think thats what i'm calling them -- the systems vs. whim thing.
my polarities (systems v. whims):
systems : knots, diagrams, directions, maps, math, schematics, music, text, physics, science, logic
whims : materials, emotions, representation/abstraction, experiences
in the book about robert irwin i've been reading, seeing is forgetting the name of the thing one sees, irwin has his own polarities that are actually kind of similar. i remember when i went to his lecture, he began with a powerpoint slide of these polarities, and i remember kicking myself for not writing them down, but hey they are in the book!
reason logic
individual community
intuition intellect
feeling mental
